Tierz Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-05

This policy explains what the mobile game Tierz (the "game", published by an independent developer, "we" / "us") collects, why, and what it never collects. It applies to the Android game and to this website. The short version: Tierz has no accounts, no sign-up and no free-text chat, and we collect only what the game and its ads need to run.

Data we collect

This table matches the "Data safety" section of the game's Google Play listing. "Collected" means the data leaves your device; "Shared" means it goes to a third party.

Advertising ID

The game shows ads using Google AdMob: rewarded videos you choose to watch (for example the Crown top-up in the Shop) and interstitial ads. AdMob collects your Android Advertising ID to select, measure and protect against fraud in ads, and shares it with the ad partners it works with. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. In the EEA and UK no ad is requested until you have made a consent choice.

Approximate location

Ad systems derive a coarse, approximate location (city level or similar) from your IP address so ads follow local rules and are region-appropriate. The game never collects GPS or precise location and has no permission to.

App interactions and diagnostics

The AdMob software inside the game automatically collects how you interact with ads and with the app around them, and diagnostic information about the app (such as launch time or errors inside the ad software), and shares it with Google for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. That is Google's software doing what Google documents for it; we add no analytics tool of our own.

Gameplay data and our game server

To run a match, the game sends our server your nickname, your movement and aim inputs, your chosen emotes and the state of your hero, and the server sends back what is happening around you. This is processed in real time to run the match. Our server keeps only minimal logs: a line when a player joins (the nickname and a session number) and leaves, a periodic count of players and bots per room, and the connection log of the small service that assigns you a room, which records your IP address and the time you asked. There is no per-player analytics record, nothing is sold, and nothing from these logs is shared with advertisers.

Your nickname

The game has no accounts: you pick a nickname and play. It is used only to run the game — the server sends it to the other players in your room, shows it on the leaderboard and in the kill feed, and writes it to the join line described above. Nicknames are limited to a short length; please do not use your real name. We never ask for your real name, email or phone number.

Reports

The death screen has a Report button. It records the reported nickname and the room in a note stored on your own device; it does not send anything to us. To report abuse, email us (see Contact) and include the nickname and, if you can, the time.

Purchases and your Crown wallet

Optional purchases (Crown packs and the one-time Tierz Premium) are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see your payment details, and the purchase record stays with Google; the game keeps a copy on your device only so that Tierz Premium can be restored. Everything else you earn or buy in the game — Crowns, class unlocks, cosmetics and Season pass progress — is stored only on your device. There is no server-side account tied to it, and nothing purchasable affects gameplay stats. Uninstalling the game, clearing its data or changing phones loses that wallet; only Tierz Premium comes back from Google Play.

Communication

You cannot type anything to other players. Communication is limited to preset emotes and preset phrases (like "gg" or "run!"). There is no free-text chat, no friend lists, and no way to share links or personal information through the game.

Third parties

That is the whole list. No other SDKs, no data brokers, no sale of personal data. A version of the game hosted on a games portal loads that portal's ad software instead of AdMob and is covered by that portal's privacy policy.

Children

Tierz is not directed at children under 13, and the Play listing targets ages 13 and up. If you believe a child under 13 gave us personal data, contact us and we will delete what we can.

Retention and deletion

Server logs are rotated with the system journal on our server. Your nickname exists on the server only while you are playing and in the join line of those logs. Because there are no accounts, the data we hold that is tied to you is minimal: to ask for deletion of server-side logs, email us. Uninstalling the game removes all locally stored data (settings, the Crown wallet, the stored purchase copy and the report notes). Ads you can control via the Android advertising settings described above.

Security

Ads, consent and purchases travel over HTTPS between your device and Google. Game traffic between the app and our game server — your nickname, inputs and hero state — and the request that assigns you a room travel over plain UDP and HTTP and are not encrypted in transit. They carry no payment details, no contact details and no account, and we collect as little as possible: the game's servers do not require or store a login.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the "last updated" date above and the Play listing will always point at the current version.
